Cookie Policy

This is the Cookie Policy for the Tanglewood Care Group website.

POLICY IMPLEMENTATION:

1. Information Management – Summary:

1.1 The information voluntarily provided through this website (which may include your name, company, address and contact details such as your telephone number, email address or fax number) will be used for the purposes of satisfying your requirements, such as developing care plans, staff recruitment or an enquiry to one of our care homes. If you have emailed us with an enquiry (for example, in relation to availability of a care package), we may use your email address to respond to your initial enquiry. We may also send you further information about our services, or keep you informed of upcoming events at our homes, provided you have indicated that you are happy to be contacted for these purposes. We will gain your consent for such communication via the cookie pop-up when our website is accessed.

1.2 You can tell us not to contact you with updates and information regarding our services, either at the point where such information is collected, or by using the contact details on the Tanglewood website.

2. Sharing of Information:

2.1 We may disclose your personal information to others: Tanglewood Head Office, other health professionals, the NHS, Local Authority and Government bodies who assist us in providing the services we offer. For example, in fulfilling requests for information about our Company, receiving and sending communications, updating service user lists, analysing data, providing support services, or in other tasks from time to time.

2.2 In the event that we undergo reorganisation, or the Company is sold to a third party, you agree that any personal information we hold about you may be transferred to that reorganised entity or third party.

2.3 We may disclose personal information if required to do so by law, following a court order request for the purposes of prevention of fraud or other crime, if we believe that such action is necessary to protect and defend the rights, property or personal safety of the residents and staff in our homes, the Tanglewood Care Group website or its visitors.

3. Use of Cookies by Tanglewood Care Group:

3.1 Cookies are small text files that are placed on your computer by websites that you visit. They are widely used to recognise you as a user when you return to the website, either for the duration of your visit (using a “session cookie”) or for repeat visits (a “persistent cookie”), and in order to make websites work, or work more efficiently to improve the user experience, as well as to provide certain information to the owners of the site. The Tanglewood website sets cookies which remain on your computer for differing times. Some expire at the end of each session and some remain for longer, so that when you return to our website you will have a better user experience.

3.2 Cookies are an extremely common technology for remembering certain information about a visitor to a website.  The vast majority of websites currently make use of cookies, and they are commonly used for a wide range of tasks.  We use cookies for the following purposes:

3.2.1 Strictly necessary cookies. These are cookies that are required for the operation of our site. They include, for example, cookies that enable you to log into secure areas of our site.

3.2.2 Analytical cookies. They allow us to recognise and count the number of visitors, and to see how visitors move around our site when they are using it. This helps us to improve the way our site works, for example, by ensuring that users are finding what they are looking for easily.

3.2.3 Functionality cookies. These are used to recognise you when you return to our site, and to embed functionality from third party services. This enables us to personalise our content for you, greet you by name, remember your preferences, and to integrate useful services provided by third party providers into our site.

3.2.4 Advertising cookies. These cookies record your visit to our site, the pages you have visited on our site and others, and the links you have followed. We will use this information to make the advertising displayed to you more relevant to your interests. We may also share this information with third parties for this purpose.

3.3 This Cookie Policy gives you information on the specific cookies used on this site.

3.4 Cookies allow us to update the count of how often a page is shared when a user forwards or shares one of our web pages on social media sites or with another user.

3.5 The Tanglewood Care Group uses a session variable which is removed from a user’s computer once the browser is shut down or the user logs out. This session variable is necessary to manage the user’s experience as they navigate the site. The site uses Google Analytics cookies to collect information about how visitors use our site.

4. Google Analytics:

4.1 We use Google Analytics to collect information about how visitors use our site. We use the information to compile reports, and to help us improve the site. The cookies collect information in an anonymous form, including the number of visitors to the site, where visitors have come to the site from, and the pages they visited.

4.2 This information does not identify visitors, or collect any personal details. We do not attempt to find out the identities of those visiting our site. We will not associate any data gathered from this site with any personal information from any source. We will make it clear when we collect personal information, and will explain what we intend to use it for.

5. Cookie Consent:

5.1 When you accessed the site, you were presented with a message that notified you of our use of cookies.  We had to use a cookie to present you with that notice. If you continue to use the site, more cookies and other tracking technologies will be placed on your computer, as described in this Cookie Policy, in order to enhance your user experience whilst on the site. The banner can be used to manage your preferences.

5.2 Web browsers allow you to exercise some control of cookies through the browser settings. Most browsers enable you to block cookies, or to block cookies from particular sites. Browsers can also help you to delete cookies when you close your browser. You should note, however, that this may mean that any opt-outs or preferences you set on the site will be lost.

5.3 To find out more about cookies, including how to see what cookies have been set and how to manage and delete them, visit, allaboutcookies.org. If you are primarily concerned about third party cookies generated by advertisers, you can turn these off by going to the Your Online Choices site at http://www.youronlinechoices.com/uk/your-ad-choices.

6.1 A list of the main cookies used by us on this site, together with details about what each is used for, can be found in Appendix 1.

7 Third party cookies:

7.1 We also use and work with a number of third party suppliers and partners who set or read cookies on this site.  We do not have any control over these cookies. Whilst we provide a summary of the third party cookies used in the table below, you should also check the relevant third party’s privacy policy using the links in that table for more information about how these cookies are used.

7.2 The third party cookies used in connection with this site include:

7.2.1 Analytics cookies. We use cookies to help us collect information that allows us to analyse web traffic to our site. The information collected via the cookies, which is anonymous, is sent to a third party that operates analytics tools which we use to analyse the information collected, and improve the site’s performance.

7.2.2 Social media cookies/plugins.  We include a variety of social media features on the pages of the site that record your interactions with those features with your accounts with various social networking sites (e.g. Facebook and Google+ buttons). For these to work, the social networking site will set/read cookies through our site to enhance your profile on their site, or contribute to the data they hold for various purposes outlined in their respective privacy policies.

7.2.3 Embedded third party content. Some of the content on our site (e.g. maps or videos) is provided by online services operated by third parties. When you visit a page containing content from one of these services, a cookie may be set by the relevant third party.

7.2.4 Advertising cookies.  We also use and work with a number of third party suppliers and partners who set cookies on this site in order to deliver to you. Please see a summary of the third party advertising cookies used in the table below. If you would like more information about the cookies used by these organisations, or would like to access a tool which you can use to disable them, please visit the Your Online Choices site at http://www.youronlinechoices.com/uk/your-ad-choices or click on the AdChoices logo that you will see in the corner of advertisements that carry behavioural targeting cookies.

7.3 A list of the third party cookies used in connection with this site can be found in Appendix 2.

8 Email tracking:

8.1 Some of the emails we send to you may contain a ‘web beacon pixel’ (clear GIFs) or tracked links which allow us to identify when you have opened the email, and to verify which links contained in the email you have accessed.

8.2 You can delete the pixel by deleting the email. If you do not wish to download the pixel to your computer or other device, you can ensure this by selecting to receive emails from us in plain text rather than HTML, or not opening pictures in your email.

8.3 Alternatively, you can unsubscribe from our mailing list by contacting us at: enquiries@tanglewoodcarehomes.co.uk

9.1 We may make changes to this Cookie Policy at any time by sending you an email with the modified terms, or by posting a copy of them on the site.  Any changes will take effect seven days after the date of our email, or the date on which we post the modified terms on the site, whichever is the earlier.  Your continued use of the site after that period expires means that you agree to be bound by the modified policy.
